Sapeli

The heartwood matures to a red-brown or purple-brown colour. The wood has a high and golden luster. Quarter sawn Sapeli is reported to yield a ribbon, regular strip or bee's wing.

Sapele ( sometimes known as African Mahogany ) is a pleasant looking timber with a light brown colour with silver streaks as grains. Even though not a very dense timber, this is quite a stable timber
